Choosing the Right Window Handles
Choosing the right window handles will depend on the type of window, the locking mechanism and the style of the property. Our range includes window handles and fasteners for a variety of timber, uPVC and aluminium window applications and includes traditional casement fasteners, espagnolette handles and forged options suitable for both new joinery and the restoration or refurbishment of existing windows.
When replacing existing fittings, consider the fixing arrangement and operating mechanism as well as the style and finish. For new windows, handles and fasteners can be selected to complement other window furniture throughout the property.
Casement Window Handles and Fasteners
Traditional casement fasteners combine the handle and closing mechanism in a surface-mounted fitting and are commonly used on timber casement windows. Designs range from simple contemporary fittings to traditional ball-end, spoon-end, monkey-tail and pigtail patterns suitable for period and heritage joinery.
Both locking and non-locking options are available.
Espagnolette Window Handles
Espagnolette window handles are designed to operate a separate multipoint locking mechanism fitted within the window. Turning the handle operates the locking system, securing the sash at multiple points around the frame.
Our range includes left-handed, right-handed and non-handed designs, with traditional and contemporary styles available to suit different window systems and architectural requirements.
Forged Window Handles
For applications where strength, durability and traditional detailing are particularly important, our range includes premium forged window handles and fasteners.
Forged fittings are shaped from solid metal rather than cast into a mould, producing strong, durable window furniture with distinctive detailing. They are particularly well suited to high-quality timber windows, period properties and restoration projects where the appearance and construction of the hardware are important.
Window Handle Styles and Finishes
Window furniture can make a significant difference to the finished appearance of a window. Our collection includes traditional patterns such as monkey tail, pigtail, spoon end and ball end alongside simpler contemporary designs.
A wide selection of finishes is available, including polished and satin chrome, polished and unlacquered brass, antique brass, antique pewter, black, bronze and other specialist finishes. This makes it easier to coordinate window handles with matching window stays, window hinges and other furniture throughout a room or property.
