Draughtproofing season is now upon us and (as usual) weather reports are indicating we’re in for a cold Winter this year. At Reddiseals, we preach every year about ensuring your windows and doors are sufficiently sealed for the colder months – but how can we be sure which seal we need for the job?
Are you looking for a seal to contain noise? Our Harmony® Acoustic range is perfect for this option, available as both door seals and also drop down seals.
PVC and Metal Frame Windows
For example, our surface mounted drop down seal can be retro fitted to doors and easy to install whilst being specifically designed for timber doors. The perfect option for office buildings where acoustic isolation is necessary.
PVC and metal framed windows
We offer a wide range of PVC frame window seals manufactured from EPDM, TPR and PVC and available in a range of sizes and shapes. Each material has its own unique feature – for example; TPR has excellent ageing properties and resistance to abrasion, EPDM boasts both outstanding product memory and resilience in high temperatures whilst PVC is ideal for static applications with low migration.
Bubble and Flipper threshold seals offer improved weather performance over galvanised or plastic bars. These resilient seals won’t shatter or crack in sub-zero temperatures and their flexibility allows protection from foot traffic treading on the bar. When you need the ultimate door seal, these are the variety to go for!
If you own sash windows, you’ll need weatherpile to ensure a draught-free window, whilst allowing the sashes to move up and down smoothly.
Reddipile® brush seals are for use with carriers whilst our self-adhesive Reddipile® is great for retrofitting. If attempting self-adhesive application, you must ensure the surface is clean, dry and free of any residue such as surface oils, dirt etc. Ideal when you have a curved area or where routing would be difficult!
Weatherseals for casement windows are essential in reducing drafts and to maintain the appearance of your window, available in a variety of colours to allow you a seamless aesthetic.
Timber Weatherseals (such as the F, R, and W Series) can be the ideal for choice for new build or refurbishment,
whereas a brand like Schlegel® is backed by a ten-year guarantee and seals against acoustic, air and water infiltration.
We can offer you help and advice, so if you have any further questions on any of the seals above, just get in touch with our friendly sales team on 01905 791876 or order one of our sample packs to view the products first-hand.
