Intumescent strips provide reliable fire protection by expanding under heat to seal the perimeter of timber fire doors, helping to contain fire and smoke. Choose fire-only seals or combined fire and smoke seals with brush or flipper profiles for enhanced protection.
Each strip comes in 2.1m lengths and a choice of 10mm, 15mm, or 20mm widths, depending on the required fire resistance (30 or 60 minutes). Select from white, brown, or black finishes. A self-adhesive backing allows for quick and straightforward installation.
Install the strips around three edges of the doorset, positioning them between the frame and the door. Fit a drop-down seal to the bottom of the door if needed. In a fire, intense heat triggers the strip to expand, sealing the gap between the door leaf and the frame. This action helps contain the fire and provides valuable time for safe evacuation.
